“Standing Mobility Solution” for

“U.S Patent No. 7,980,572”

Solus Innovations had its start back in 2007, when I was told to use crutches after minor foot surgery.  After a couple days of struggling with these, I went out to my workshop and designed and constructed an “outrigger roll around push scooter”. Nothing fancy but functional.  Fortunately, I had the material for this project from my current modular caging business www.bennettimps.com. After a short time, the foot healed and the scooter was shelved.

Nearly six months later I woke up one morning and an idea had been planted in in mind... “to put a hole in it”.  I had no clue as to what that meant!  A number of days passed and then another “nudge” before I figured it out.  The hole or “pocket” was to go in the scooter seat.  This would allow an amputee to insert the stump and stand to propel.  Thank you, Lord!  After many prototypes, trials and adjustments Solus Innovations emerged.
